Slow health is a restful night of sleep, waking up to chirping birds. Fast health is the alarm clock on your iPhone telling you to get up to get the workout in before the sun comes up.
Slow health is a stroll after a filling dinner with great conversation. Fast health is portioning your lean protein and vegetables and talking yourself out of the ice cream for dessert.
Slow health is that yoga class you love but can't always find the time for. Fast health is that intense workout scientifically proven to hit all the physiological high notes (hopefully not tweaking your lower back).
Slow health is Zone 2 for an hour. Fast health is Zone 4 for an hour.
Slow health is fresh berries from the farm. Fast health is the box of protein bars on sale.
Slow health is sitting by the fire. Fast health says the longer you stay in the cold plunge, the better it must be.
In a world where faster, better, and harder are put on a pedestal (even in the world of health), I find peace in the long, slow game of leading a healthy life.
*I totally participate in fast health regularly. This post is just as much a reality check and reminder for myself as it may be for you 😉
