SFH #44: Details πŸ’…πŸ½

Don't you worry about the details. You can make it work for you. πŸ˜‰

The details will always get figured out if you have focus, an end goal, and willingness. I started my adult life learning how to arrange details. College can be a master course in responsible detail management. Course work, a social life, and managing a schedule are the big categories of logistical details I wrapped my brain around as an 18-year-old bright-eyed boy.

I was so good at detail management I was able to parlay that skill into my professional life as a triathlon coach πŸƒπŸ½β€β™‚οΈ 🚴 πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ and operations guy for the World Adult Kickball Association. At the heart of any functional system (business or not) is the arrangement of parts into a logical sequence for the desired outcome. Parts (key details) can be information, people, equipment, goods, services, and ideas. Getting to the desired result only takes testing. In exercise science, performance has been studied profoundly for a long time. The hard science (testing) behind health training, nutrition, and lifestyle practices has been foundationally around for a while. We constantly learn and relearn old lessons as discoveries unfold or old ones are lost and forgotten. The formula for how to arrange these healthy details is in the clinical and archaeological science and history of our existence. Getting back to it…

What I want to say is Details + Focus = Outcome.Β

And further Details + Focus + Willingness = More Desirable Outcomes.

So why not worry about the details?

  1. The details are the most pliable parts of the equation. They are significant, no doubt, and not as crucial asΒ focusΒ orΒ willingness. We know what to do with details from a scientific and historical perspective. We need to practice introspection and self-awareness to develop our abilities to focus and drive our outcomes. We want to find a deep connection.

  2. Focus is your why. If you don't know your why then how can you stay on course. You are always answering your why whether you are aware of it or not.

  3. Willingness dictates how much energy you will invest. You can manufacture will on a small scale, and the rest of it is tied to your intrinsic motivationβ€”coming back to your why.Β If you are tied to your why you will bring a great deal of willingness barring natural obstacles (like knowing yourself and your truth). πŸ˜‚

Just some fun thoughts for this Tuesday!

Happy day β˜€οΈ

Brian
